The Eggplant
The Eggplant is FSU's satire news publication -- our campus version of The Onion. As a writer for The Eggplant, I collaborated with the staff to pitch, edit, and brainstorm articles. In addition to the daily satirical pieces, I created social media content for the publication's combined 18,000 followers.
This was my favorite way to exercise my writing muscles in a fun, humorous way!

FSView & Florida Flambeau
FSView & Florida Flambeau is FSU's esteemed newspaper, founded in 1915.
I was the editor for the Arts & Culture section of the paper, overseeing the production of weekly full-page articles about the local events within Tallahassee.
During my time as a writer, I researched happenings in the community, interview local figures, and report on what the readership should check out. I run pitch meetings, manage social media, organize layouts, and edit articles regarding topics from theater, concerts, film and television reviews, local attractions, and more.
Her Campus FSU
Her Campus FSU is the FSU chapter of the national Her Campus online news and lifestyle publication for college women across the country.
As a staff writer, I wrote weekly articles on a range of topics from news to community profiles to cultural happenings to personal essays. I am also responsible for representing the publication at campus events and online to promote my and my fellow staff's work on social media.
Our chapter boasts that we are Pink Level, meaning that we rank in the top quartile of over 300 universities. Not too shabby!
WVFS Tallahassee 89.7FM
WVFS Tallahassee 89.7FM is the FSU radio station, known as "The Voice of Florida State." I work here in the Continuity Department to write the public service announcements that come on air between songs. These are concise clips read on-air that bring attention to local events in the Tallahassee area, from music festivals to film screenings.
I loved working here because we meet weekly in the radio station and that is by far the coolest place on campus.
